It’s always exciting when academic experiences in our schools can serve members of the wider community. A great example: Students at Gaffney High School presented to local veterans a book they created called “American Veterans: True Accounts of Cherokee County Soldiers – Vietnam Edition Volume 1.” The book was part of an Advanced Placement U.S. History class project. At a program to present the books, teacher George Duncan said, “The life lessons they learned and the memories they made with each of you will not soon be forgotten. You guys are our heroes, and thank you for your service to our country.” Duncan was quoted in this article from the Spartanburg Herald-Journal.
