State Teacher of the Year named

Teachers stand up for their students and schools every day in South Carolina. On Wednesday night, top teachers from around the state were honored. They and their guests were treated to dinner, music, and a keynote address by Dick Riley, the former governor and for federal education secretary. Each district’s teacher of the year was introduced before the announcement of this year’s winner – Suzanne Koty, who teaches at Sumter High School.
