School rallies around student

While detractors of public education promote images of heartless bureaucracy and out of touch leaders, example after example shows the reality that public schools are centers of community and personal connection. Here is a story that ran in today’s Aiken Standard about a student undergoing surgery for scoliosis and the support she has gotten from the school.
