Good news for students in  Florence County School District 1: a new elementary school billed by one community leader as a “dream school.”

FLORENCE, S.C. – “Today is the tomorrow we talked about yesterday,” said the Rev. Dr. William P. Diggs.
He spoke Saturday at the ribbon cutting for North Vista Elementary School, which opened in August.
It is the first school in the country to fully use the latest generation of Smart Board technology. Saturday’s ceremony was symbolic not only of opening literal doors, but of broadening horizons and expanding expectations.
