Colbert donates to SC schools

Stephen Colbert

Comedian and television personality Stephen Colbert is standing up for South Carolina public schools in a big way: He is helping to fund $800,000 in grants for teachers in the state. Colbert is a South Carolina native and has partnered with the non-profit organization Share Fair Nation and Greenville-based technology company ScanSource to support more than 800 teachers and 375 schools. He announced the gift at a conference hosted by the crowd-sourcing non-profit DonorsChoose.org.
